The Climate Ride, A Poem

In September, I biked with four co-workers—Raffi Wineburg, Amy Kennedy, Holli Kenison, and Justin Bradley—through the Shenandoah National Park to raise money for HEET as part of this year’s Climate Ride.After all said and done, Team HEET, as we called ourselves, biked almost 250 miles in 3 days, collectively raised over $10,000 for both HEET and the Climate Ride, and spread the word about leaky gas leaks among the 100+ participants in the ride.

It was an awesome, butt-kicking trip full of epic nature, welcoming community, snazzy custom HEET bike jerseys, and environmental activism.In fact, it was such a special trip that it inspired The Climate Ride: A Poem!

Though our legs got super fried,

The views were bona fide.

We reached some new heights,

Passed some patriotic sites.

Overall, a pretty great Climate Ride!
