Meet the newest members of the HEET Team

We are proud to introduce you to our newest team members:

‍Rebecca Brenneis (she/her) joins HEET as a member of the Science team. She recently completed her PhD in Environmental Engineering at MIT, where her research focused on quantification and abatement of methane emissions from agricultural, and other dilute sources.  

Kari Bender (she/her) is excited to join the HEET team as Assistant to the Executive Director. Although she’s new to geothermal, she’s not new to climate work. Kari spent the last 6 years in sustainable agriculture working on small scale, diversified, no-till, and organic farms. Her passion for land stewardship has driven her towards clean energy and working towards a healthier planet.  

Tony Berry (he/him) is the Director of Communications, He began his career in strategic communications as a public affairs specialist in the United States Army. Since then, he has provided trusted advice and counsel to leaders and brands across a variety of sectors. Tony’s expertise lies in crafting communication strategies that impact organizational goals.
